"He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him."
Bro. John L, Campbell's wife, Sis. Jewel 1, has had the Lord to help her many times since she has been in the family of God. One of these times was when she was nineteen years old. She came down with an ailment and she didn't know what it was, but it caused her to lose
all control of her body. Her arms, legs and head would shake and contort in every way and there, was nothing neither she nor anyone else could do to stop it. She continually became worse and it was almost impossible for her to sleep. Her family would hold her quiet as much as they could, and even hold her eyelids closed and still she would not sleep. Some people were a-afraid of her on account of her not having
any control of herself and everyone gave her up to die, (everyone as far as she knew), Sis, Jewell wondered herself if she would die. She asked the Lord "the next time I can go to sleep, if you are ever going to heal me, let me move my big toe when I wake up". When she awoke, she remembered what she had asked God and she tried to have control of herself enough to make her big toe move and THANK GOD, it did move, She held onto this for about three months. She was so far gone, some people were even preparing for her funeral. One night when the people came in to pray, she said that she wanted to be anointed with oil. Bro, Coy Thompson was pressed to do so but wanting to be extra careful, he failed to anoint her. Afterwards, Bro. Coy felt sorrowful that he had failed to obey the Lord. He promised the Lord if He would make a way for him to do so again, he would be obedient. The Lord made the way and this brother did anoint Sis. Jewell, and she was healed, It is -good to listen to this sister tell how good the Lord has been to her and her family.

During the first Sunday night meeting at
BLACK OAK, Sis. Larue, Bro. Wesley McLain's wife was telling how one night real late, she had finished her housework; she was pressed to kneel and pray for her daughter, Sis. Rhonda Putnam in LAKEWOOD PARK, Florida. She did not know why her daughter would need her prayer, because she was no doubt in bed as late as it was. But she asked her Lord to bless and take care of her daughter in what ever she was in need of. The next morning Sis. Larue called her long distance, and asked her what was the matter with her. Sis, Rhonda said, "How did you know anything was wrong with me, Mother?" But she went on to
tell how she had been awful sick and the Lord had come by and healed her. She told her mother the time this happened and of course it was when the Lord pressed Sis, Larue to pray,

Bro. James McLain has written and published a song "I've Been Adopted" and dedicated it to Sis. Janice Allen. Sis, Janice was an adopted child and she grew up and heard the word of God. and accepted it* Today she is a Child of God. It is good to hear her testify and tell how her real
father was from Yugoslavia. He married and had twelve children and when little Janice and a twin sister (who later died), was born, it was thought that her mother would not live. Little Janice (that was not her name then) was put up for adoption. After she was a-adopted out, her mother recovered but it was too late. 'She could not regain custody of her child. This family was of the Catholic religion. The family that adopted her had her enrolled in a Catholic school when she became of age. She always felt left out all her life for she had no brother or sisters to play with and no good friend she could depend on. The friends or rather the one she thought were her friends, just lead her into trouble and then deserted her....
Sis. Janice
She never saw her real mother, for during her younger years, she died. Then one day she met Phillip Allen and became married to him soon afterwards. Phillip's family knew the Lord and eventually Janice managed to go to meeting. This sister tells now of the first service she attended at HARVEY. The saints were rejoicing and praising the Lord. She just knew someone would step on her baby, who was sleeping on the floor, and hurt it. She was scared, yet she wanted to cry. After this, she started going to meeting often and the saints tried to help and encourage her, especially, Bro. Billy Parker. One day he told her that the "Spirit would not always strive with man" and she took it to her heart. At church that night during alter call, Bro. Jack Den-son put out his hand and in love said, "won't you please come?" and on her knees she went. Within a short time, she and Bro, Phillip was "one of them," Now Sis. Janice talks "It all started way back when I was adopted and I often wondered why I was the only child to be given away." One day while she was lying down on her bed and studying over
her past she was asking the question "why me? Why did it have to happen to me?" The Lord answered her "because I chose you"...
AMEN!

Bro. Garl Cooper from Higdon has had a hard struggle with a serious heart condition. He testified on the first Sunday at Higdon, that it had been over a year since' he" has been able to perform any work, even as little as mowing the lawn. But what was so good was Bro. Garl told of how the Lord healed him two weeks before and now he can do whatever he desires. Bro. Paul Guffey amen--ed him, and said he saw Bro. Garl the day before helping the brethren work on the roof of their church. Bro. Garl now has another problem. He has a cancer growing on his face. We know the same God that healed his heart can also heal this cancer!

Bro. Will Guffey is now living with his son, Bro. Frank, in the Skyline community. These saints have been mentioning how he has brought the Word of God to them so good, even in his old age. On the fourth Sunday morning, he talked concerning "keep in memory what was preached to you, lest you let it slip and you go astray after something else." There were just a small number of children of God out, but they were enthused because even though Bro. Will didn't know it, Bro. Frank had spoken on the very same thing the evening before.
Sis. Barbara Brown, Bro. Charlie Brown's daughter-in-law blessed the saint's heart when she told how her baby was born and could not cry for it had no voice. They (Sis. Barbara and her in-laws) were trusting the Lord. One day she heard Bro. Charlie's and Sis. Gladys' baby crying and went in to see about it. She saw Bro. Charlie and Sis. Gladys with tears in their eyes, and she found out it was her child that was crying. They knew God had done this for them.... This made a lump come in out throat and tears to our eyes when we
heard this wondrous news.
Bro. Will Guffey was at ROCKY BRANCH through the second weekend and the saints are still telling how the Word of God he preached is still helping them. The Lord blessed Bro. Thomas Brewer that evening.
He was remembering how poor a childhood he had. He stated that his parents did the best they could but they were still real poor. In telling his experience, he recalled of one time finding some old men's shoes in a dump and he was glad to. wear them to the fields to protect his feet while working. At times he would think about the Lord, and wonder if the Lord would look at someone so lowly and poor as he. But as Bro. Thomas went on to say, "the gospel was preached to the poor", and God did look at him and gave him the good Holy Ghost to lead and guide him...We love you Bro. Tom!
By this time, Bro. Will was telling how when a man came to God even if he did not have good apparel and such, that the Lord put a
new robe on him and new shoes on his feet. It sounded real good.
The third weekend found these saints having good meetings. The Lord blessed them to remember Him in His death and suffering on Saturday night. Sunday found them with many visitors and the Lord blessed a number of them. Bro. John L. Campbell's wife, Sis. Jewell was one of these. While she was witnessing, her hands went on Bro. Paul Simmons' wife, Sis. Minnie Katherine, and it was beautiful the way the Lord blessed her when she arose from her seat. She was bound in the Spirit of God. Bro. Paul was also, feeling the goodness of the Lord, (he usually does), and Bro. Buford Warren from NYLA was telling how the Lord drew him to God. Sunday night meeting was good,
also, with Bro. Buford's son, Bro. Allen Warren, praising the Lord. He now lives in this community. Bro. Gary Branford's
wife, Sis. Sybil was over in the Spirit and the church was encouraged.
The church at IDER has been having pleasing services of late. Two new brethren have been added to the Lord's church. On Wednesday evening (11th), Thurmond Tinker was baptized with the Holy Ghost. On the following Sunday morning Bro. Alvin Bailey baptized him with water in keeping with the Word of God.... On Monday night following, Anthony Spurgeon came to the Lord. God-fearing parents, Bro, raised him. Rowan "Mutt" and Sis. Lona Spurgeon, but like the Prodigal son, he wandered far astray in sin and iniquity. He was caught up in boot legging, gambling, and every other outlaw and
sinful doings. But, also, like the Prodigal son, he came to himself and seen his condition and made his way to the Father, who received him with opened arms...We thank the Lord for this, for regardless how far a person strays if they will repent and come to the Lord He
will bring them into His fold.
Sis. Joan, Bro. Anthony's wife has been a child of God since this past May. And is she ever happy now!
On Tuesday night, Bro. Will Guffey preached in the meekness of the Lord. His scripture was "blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." The church loved it. Bro. Hodges Moore edified with a short talk on the Lord telling Samuel, "man looketh on the outward appearance, but God looketh in the heart." (Amen). Bro. Will sang his favorite song, "How I Came To Love These Pilgrims", and the love of God flooded through the building.
The following night, (Wednesday), Bro. Jack Denson talked in good soberness on the love of God and how you can tell it is real. It was so edifying, that some of the saints were calling around to their neighbors the next day and praising the Lord for leading Bro. Jack to explain it so beautifully.
Bro. Dewey Barrier was exhorting the "saints of God" in pure living by the Words of the Lord. He hit the high spots of every day life. It was good.

A new one made it right with the Lord
on KEEL MOUNTAIN on the second Tuesday night (l0th). This service was good and solid all throughout. Bro. Mitchell Drake from BIG COVE, (everyone was proud to see him), was telling what the Lord had done for him. Also how the Lord had allowed "the signs to follow him." Sis. Jean Moon was thanking the Lord for the same reason for the Lord
had given her "power over a serpent". Everyone who testified was talking about the sweet goodness of our God. When the opportunity for the lost to pray was given, Sis, Kathy Cooper was filled with the Spirit of God.
Bro. Duke Cowan who leads meeting here is glad to say that all of "our services are good."
Meeting was given out for the third Friday night and this service was good, too. One sister from ELKWOOD, Sis. Carol Hereford edified everybody wonderfully, by telling how she, at one time, was a member of a denomination. They baptized her in a church pool after they attired her in a fine white robe. When the Lord called her and gave her the Holy Ghost, she was baptized in "a little muddy creek" and she came up so full of joy and satisfaction. One brother who had come a long way to be with these saints said, "it was worth the trip to hear Sis. Carol's testimony". Sis. Charlotte Finlayson was real happy telling how the Lord healed her son when a large copperhead snake bit him and she rejoiced all over the room. So did Bro. David Maples, who was telling how the Lord done wonderful things for him. Many of these saints at one time were denominational people and a number of them were telling how the Word of God brought them to the Lord.
These saints have obtained a church house at the end of the same road they are now on. By the time this is read they will be in it, if it is the Lord's will.... There is a good number of children of God from different communities attending here, especially from Huntsville and these saints are real glad to have this good help+++0ur prayers here is that the Lord will continue to prosper them.

A carload of saints from Alabama went to LAKEWOOD PARK to be with these people and worship the Lord with them. Brothers Jack Denson, Harry Kilgore, Billy Saddler, Coy Barron, and Olief Gaines had as good a time in the Lord going to Florida and back as they did while they were there in service. While their conversation was on the Lord as they rode down the highway, the good peacefulness of the Lord prevailed among them. They also helped the church at LAKEWOOD PARK, especially Bro. Jack's preaching on the "true worshiper". A number of the saints here had never met Bro. Olief, but they had heard so much about him and they were thrilled to hear him tell how God had taken care of him especially, how the Lord healed his speech. It was a wonderful weekend for LAKEWOOD PARK.
Another good weekend that followed this one was when another group arrived to help out. The families of Bros. Wesley Parker, Ray Parker, Albert Parker, and Bro. Neil Duvall all had a good time in service together. These children of God are always proud to see some of God's family come south to be with them. Bro. Henry has been gone for about three months and the church has missed him and his dear wife, Sis. Minnie. Bro. Henry has been real ill, he was even spitting up and passing blood, but our Lord has helped him and now he is on the go again. He has been to a few churches in Alabama. The fourth Tuesday night found him in SCOTTSBORO and guess what he was preaching? Peace, Love and Joy. It is so good to hear this for it never gets old. He also read from God's word, "Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom". Bro. Henry preached pure holiness. Sis. Minnie edified also with "keep holding onto the Lord".

The revival at NYLA was run through the first week of October with the Lord blessing in every service. Bro. Robert Warren was proud of all the saints that came to be with them. One service that will long be remembered in this community was on Thursday night. Bro. Frank Guffey from SKYLINE had been real good to come and help. On this night, he a-rose to say a few words and the Lord blessed
him to admonish the saints to rejoice in the truth.

Bro. Charles Willmon and Bro Frank Guffey
He did not discourage rejoicing and shouting in testifying and singing but to be sure we could rejoice and
praise God for His Word. The Lord was with him so much the whole church was standing and he was in the middle of the familiar "circle" with the joy of God all over the house. We here do not have the ability to put in words the wonderful feeling and the way the Lord moved among the children of God. It was "joy unspeakable and full of glory". (It was heartening to see how God's people still love the truth.) The sum total was this; it was a good place to be.

On the fourth Sunday at PLEASANT GROVE Bro. Frank Guffey and Bro. Willard Woolen were encouraging the saints to not forget how the old children of God lived and handed the way down to this generation... Bro. Clarence Williams, who is now 67 years old, was given what was supposed to have been a surprise birthday dinner after service. (A little great-granddaughter let the "cat out; of the bag"). The dinner was a success from the viewpoint of every one enjoying themselves and one another. Sis. Shirley Hudson, Bro. Sam's wife, made a
beautiful cake. This cake looked like
a man's shirt and tie.
The evening before (Saturday night), Bro Henry McLain was present and was admonishing everyone "to be content with such things as you have" and "with food and raiment there with be content."
Bro. Henry 's son, Bro. James, who now lives at OAK GROVE on Günter's Mountain, was recounting how the Lord had stood by him in so many instances. The people enjoyed the McLain family.

The Lord has redeemed another soul at SOUTH HAVEN. This happened on the second Sunday night, which is the night of their communion service. The church honored the Lords Supper and went into the foot washing with a good feeling of love. Then after alter call was given Anthony Duvall's (Bro. Leroy's son) wife, Joyce, received the Holy Ghost in just a few minutes. As soon as the Lord testified she believed and came up a born again believer. "The brightness of the Lord seemed to surround her and the children of God." At this point the Lord's Supper was offered to Sis. Joyce and she accepted it with gladness and these good sisters proceeded to wash her feet. This service was not a great shouting meeting but one filled with the good solid love of God and praising his name.

Thursday night of the second week, our service at CAVE SPRINGS was just wonderful for it looked like everyone who wanted a blessing received one. We had several visitors and we are proud of every one especially, Bro. Jerry Stapler. We wish everyone could have seen how free he was had how he rejoiced in the Lord... Then on the third Sunday night of September our service changed to preaching with Bro. Paul Stone instructing the children of God on how to live to please the Lord. The saints enjoyed the admonishing. Bro. Titus Whorten and others began testifying and endorsing the truth. From this the Lord started blessing the saints and also healing. just by the laying on of children of Gods' hands. The fourth Sunday night found us with a small crowd and Bro. Paul Stone began to apologize for the small number
present when Bro. Leonard Knight, from brown's CHAPEL, recalled the night the Lord filled him with the Holy Ghost, there was just a few saints there. Then everyone started telling about the goodness of the Lord.
The CAVE SPRINGS Holiness Church had a successful benefit singing for the son of Sis. Zella Ruth and Ralph Holmes. He is a cancer patient. We wish to thank everyone for your generous support and also a "thank you", especially, Bro. Nelson Stone who did a fine job as MC.

Willis and Sis. Willie Brown. MY DESIRE
Oh, Great Spirit whose voice I hear in the
wind, and whose breath gives life to all the world,
hear me...
I come before you, one of your many children I am small and weak- I need your strength
and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever
behold the beauty of Holiness... Make my hands clean- keep my feet in the
right way before you; Make my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise so that I may know the things
you have taught your people The lesson you have laid down in your word
for them to go by.
I seek strength, not to be superior to my
brother, But to be able to fight my greatest enemy,
Myself. Make me ever ready to come to you with clean
hands and straight eyes, So that when life fades as a fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame.
This is my greatest desire...
